Mission Statement

A Pause 4 The Cause mission is to provide the underserved populations and at-risk youth and young adults with opportunities through art expressions and develop skills for personal and professional growth that will enhance and contribute to their well-being.


A Pause 4 The Cause purpose is to make attainable education, art, and skills that will guide and present alternative directions toward self-sufficiency and productivity for individuals, families, and communities.


A Pause 4 The Cause vision is to address  social issues that impact many causes of self destructive and  defeating behaviors which are infiltrating our communities.  It is our vision that implementing programmatic time allotted "pauses" of negative thinking and identifying individual's goals and dreams though artful expressions, and life skills that today's at risk population will create a new "cause" for living a healthier and productive life.

Meet Our Board of Directors 

Board Chair

Dr. Robin Eutz is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) in the State of Indiana and holds a  Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor-Clinical Supervisor (LICDC-CS) in Ohio, also Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) from the State of New York. She achieved a Doctor of Philosophy in Human Service from the school of Public Service Leadership at Capella University. Dr. Eutz also holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Notre Dame College, a Master of Education Degree in Adult and Program Development from Cleveland State University.

 As a researcher, Dr. Eutz is a published research author and is grounded with identifying innovative practices for substance abuse disorders and evidence based programs and its implications.

Board Vice Chair 

Jeff Ward is an experienced Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor, Clinical Supervisor (LICDC-CS) with clinical and counseling experience in the area of substance abuse treatment and mental health counseling. He is passionate about helping people meet and maintain their mental health needs. He’s served as program manager for a number of programs in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Jeff is currently the Owner/CEO of Jeff Ward & Associates LLC providing Substance abuse treatment to adolescents, adults and communities in northeast Ohio.


Robin Barrett is employed at Amtrust Financial Group as an Underwriter for the Financial Institutions division. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Kent State University. In her spare time she volunteers with Lifebanc by helping to spread the word on the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. She is married to the love of her life and enjoys entertaining her family and friends, shopping, boating and interior decorating.


Timothy Brown is a graduate of R.B. Chamberlin High School located in Twinsburg, Ohio and attended Cleveland State Univesity and received a Bachelors of Arts Degree.

Timothy currently serves as Network Development Manager for CareSource Health Care. His career begins as a health care administration in 1990. Timothy is innovative with negotiating contracts for all types of health care providers and in 1997 he founded Five Star Health Care Consulting (FSHCC).

The principal business of FSHCC is to develop managed care networks and to negotiate associated contracts. Timothy has worked for both providers over the past 20 years, where he assisted clients and managed their contracting needs.

Timothy also coached youth baseball in the school settings. Some of his hobbies include golfing, traveling, and attending sporting events, reading, and studying the Bible.

Assistant Treasurer

Charlotte McKenney is a graduate of Capital University and holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Science and an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Cuyahoga Community College. Ms. McKenney is a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDCA) with over 16 years of experience working with individuals who  suffers with Substance Abuse Disorders.

Dawn holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Teaching Degree and license in 7-12 Integrated Social Studies and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Dawn is also a Licensed School Counselor and A Licensed Professional Counselor. Dawn holds certifications in Chemical Dependency Counseling, LGBTQ Issues and Intervention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Enhancement, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Therapy. She currently teaches Social Studies, Psychology, and Sociology to High School students and is a part-time Adjunct Professor for Lorain County Community College where she teaches Psychology.  Dawn is also a Motivational Speaker, inspiring individuals to use mindfulness techniques and knowledge to create their best self and build positive personal and professional relationships.  Dawn also runs her own Private Practice where she treats people with Mental Health and Bereavement issues.
